Starting in August 2020 with Josh and apprentice Jamie, JSR Electrical has grown to become a leader in the Mackay & Whitsundays known for their quality electrical work and commitment to the local community.

I have chosen this job as I saw an opportunity to better my skills and working career. I have been able to do this by learning and gaining more knowledge of both the electrical and refrigeration trades.
I most enjoy completing my workload and performing high quality work as it gives me a great sense of accomplishment at the end of every day. I also enjoy keeping my clients and employers happy by doing so.
I would advise to always go with genuine brands and to spend that little bit extra to get high-quality equipment.
I love to unwind by taking my dog for a walk while I skateboard around the botanical gardens. I finish off by having a nice long shower and relaxing on the couch or the patio to enjoy the sunset.
I don’t have a specific favourite place in Mackay as I enjoy all the beaches. My favourite thing to do around Mackay and surrounding areas is to get out in the nature by camping so I can take it all in.
My funniest compliment that I receive often is that I look like I am 18 years old and still an apprentice, although I am 28 years old.

I wanted to become an electrician and a position was offered to me at JSR. I met Josh and we got along really well instantly, so I was super happy to become a part of his team! Josh is by far the best boss I’ve ever had and I look up to him as my mentor.
I enjoy doing hands on work and working with a great team.
Investing in quality plastic fans, for example Spyda fans, is an excellent decision for our climate.
I find it really relaxing and soothing to practice playing my flute and then have dinner with my mum.
To our local rugby league football grounds where I enjoy watching the reserve grade team play. I hope to one day be successful at joining the reserve grade team.
I was once asked by a client if I could be her grandson while she was giving me a hug before I left her property.

I think that spending extra money on quality materials with long and durable warranties is worth it.
At the end of each day I enjoy taking my kids for a walk to the park and taking them to the Gooseponds to feed the ducks.
My favourite place to visit is Airlie Beach as I enjoy going there and staying at the Big 4 for holidays with my family. I also enjoy going to Montes at Hydeaway Bay.
The funniest compliment I receive often is that clients think my first-year apprentice Theo is my son, although there isn’t much of an age gap! It’s not necessarily a compliment, but it was funny when one of my repeat customers has also told me that “I’m getting thin on top”.

I chose this job as throughout my final year in high school I had been looking for an opportunity to work in the electrical field, so when I was able to find one with JSR, I jumped at the chance.
I enjoy having the chance to go to new places throughout Mackay and surrounding areas alongside meeting new people.
I think that spending more money on high end brands is worth it as they offer quality products that will last. Some of my favourite brands are Clipsal, Trader and Panasonic.
After a hard day at work, I like to go home and take a nice hot shower to scrub off the day and finish off by lying in bed to relax.
My favourite place in Mackay is the Riverside markets. I go most Thursday afternoons as they offer a large range of delicious food trailers.
The funniest compliment I receive while completing jobs with my boss is that everyone thinks I am his younger brother or son!
